Our Programs

our programs

Vina aids more than 7,000 people each year: from people experiencing homelessness to families barely making ends meet. We help people find resources they need and/or we help them stretch the limited resources they already have. When someone has gaps in their support system - whether it's a dearth of friends, family, or other agency supports they can turn to - Vina fills that gap with kindness.

Through an individual donation, in-kind donation drive, sponsorship, or volunteer service, your contribution to Vina Moses Center is a commitment to providing kindness in our community. Thank you!

All of Vina's services are free of charge.

THANK YOU TO OUR 2024 PROGRAM SPONSORS!

year-round programs

Vina’s Free Thrift Store

  • Items donated by the community are set up in a thrift store for families to choose for free: clothes, shoes, home décor, pots, pans, dish sets, hygiene items, food, and more. Households shop once per month, but we don't turn people away if they have a more urgent or frequent need.

    • Vina’s New Leaf Remember when it took a few weeks in your first home to figure out everything you needed? We offer the same for our newly housed shoppers and prioritize finding new items for them. Plus they can shop in Vina's Free Thrift Store once a week during their first month of being housed.

Vina’s Aid

  • For many households, all it takes is one unexpected expense, unpaid sick days, or a catastrophic event to upend their ability to make ends meet. We can fill in gaps to keep people in their homes, keep the lights on, and meet other urgent or emerging financial needs. Requests for aid are taken by phone or in person during business hours.

Vina’s Closet

  • We meet people where they are with hyper-local versions of our Free Thrift Store, whether it's in a rural community, a local public school, or a treatment center. Hours of each location vary. We also offer our seasonal programs in Alsea and Monroe.

Vina’s Cupboard

  • Just like you, families appreciate the convenience of shopping in one place for their basic needs - including food! All food is donated by the community, agency partners, local stores, and local farmers. Indoor Cupboard: food available during business hours. Outdoor Cupboard: food available 24/7.

Vina’s Nursery

  • Expecting and new parents receive necessities for their newborn from birth through the first year.

Vina’s Workforce Closet

  • We partner with LaborMax and other employment agencies to purchase or find items that newly hired people need to start a job, enabling them to keep more of their first paycheck so they can meet their basic needs.

Seasonal programs

Vina’s Back to School

  • Equipping students with their basic school needs before classes start helps kids worry less about their basic needs so they can focus on learning. At Vina Moses Center, kids choose their own clothes, shoes, socks, underwear and basic school supplies before school starts. Open to students in Benton County from pre-K to grade 12. This program also pops up in Alsea and Monroe.

Vina’s Giving Tree

  • Everyone deserves to feel included during the holidays, however they celebrate. We pop-up a seasonal Giving Tree Store and let parents choose new gifts for their children ages 0-18. We also provide the centerpiece food for a family meal in 1,000 Benton County households. Our community Giving Trees engage more than 60 businesses and groups in seasonal spirit and the kindness of giving. We are a primary partner with Toys for Tots in Benton County. This program also pops up in Alsea and Monroe every December.
