| Back to school can
be a fun and exciting time for kids. For some parents it can be
a struggle to provide the supplies and clothes are needed. The Vina
Moses Center helps these families make it easier. Each child, in
grades K-12, gets to have his or her shopping day. For some
this will be the only pair of new shoes they get all year.
The school program's goal is to ensure that all children have the
minimum in school supplies and clothing for the school year to come.
This year we estimate 900 children to participate in the program.
The Center provides new shoes for each child, new socks and underwear,
a coat and two school outfits from the store racks as well as pens,
pencils, paper and other necessary items for the classroom.
Child Sponsorship
Your sponsorship of a child will help pay for the
cost of the school supplies, socks, underwear, shoes and some new
clothing items that we do not have on our shelves. Typically we
do not have enough money to ensure every child gets all the supplies
but as a minimum each child gets pencils, pens, paper, eraser, ruler,
spiral notebooks, lined paper and age appropriate things such as
crayons, glue, etc.
